BioShock Infinite

Before we formed CodeBeast, our team was the Core Technology Team for BioShock Infinite at Irrational Games. We extensively modified UnrealEngine 3 in order to meet the demanding goals of that game, and provide a great experience on both consoles and PC. Our work touched most areas of the engine including physics, streaming, rewriting the lighting pipeline, proprietary 'Floating Worlds' tech, optimizations on all platforms, and much more. BioShock Infinite garnered 187 awards and nominations, and scored a metacritic rating of 94.

Technically speaking, it's difficult to believe that Infinite is running on six- and seven-year-old hardware.

John Woo Presents Stranglehold

Before we went to Irrational Games, the majority of our team was the core of the Stranglehold programming team at Midway Games. We extensively modified a much less mature UnrealEngine 3, and as with BioShock Infinite later, wanted a great experience on all platforms. The massive destruction system in Stranglehold required a completely new physics integration based on Havok, large architectural changes to the engine, and extensive optimizations. Stranglehold shipped on PS3 before Epic shipped a PS3 title, which was a particular challenge. Stranglehold garnered 12 awards and nominations.

...Stranglehold certainly delivers, largely due to the positively otherworldly tech that underpins the game.
